Read 3 posts now while previous 2 made me desire to visit NE again to catch up with what I missed while we were there, this one really moved me to realisation how much needs to be done in the society still. Thank you so much, would sure love to write more on legal adoption in India. I've written this article with my experience and knowledge while working with this organization for over a decade now. During this tenure I have come across couples who are willing to adopt a child, yet don't really know how to go about it the right way which is called legal adoption in India. Of course CARA has it's website where one can find everything in details. But then unless one comes to know about the legal procedures after the pre adoption counselling and about CARA from us, they would certainly not know or visit the website. Moreover, people generally have neither the patience nor the time to actually go through all the technical terms and conditions of the rules that are elaborately described in the website. Hence, my idea of writing this piece on Sishu Greh and adoption procedures into a simple story to appeal all who read this.

Thank you all for your kind words of appreciation. While writing this piece, I was wondering where to start and where to end, as during my association with this organization over a decade now,I have come across so many children each having a different tale to tell. Every day some where some one is abandoned or orphaned. On the other hand, there are so many parents who want to adopt a child but actually do not know how to go about it the right way which is adopting legally. Govt of India is giving utmost importance in this field to curb child trafficking and abuse. Our effort and main concern is to hand over the baby to the right parents, the right way.
